FAQ
What is a membership?
Pretty simple! When you want to come regularly and make Pilates a habit, a membership gives you regular classes at better than pack prices. You get special benefits that normal class pack holders don’t…like…
1. The ability to sign up to classes 90 days in advance – unpaid.
2. The ability to join waitlists
3. Free access to our online studio including a fresh at home Pilates plan each week.
4. Invites to to free member events and classes that run. 🎉
How long are these specials available for?
Only until your intro offer expires! If you don’t know what to do, reach out, we would love to help you feel confident to make the right decision.
If in doubt – sign up to Bronze or Silver Flexi. There is no lock in or minimum term. That way you secure your pricing, and if on consultation with us you decide you want to shift to up or down a level, we can help organize that.
What is an auto pay?
An auto pay is a regular, recurring payment on your credit or debit card. Our memberships are an ongoing 4-weekly payment.
On a membership, your autopay continues as normal, unless there is a hold (for a holiday) or cancellation of the membership.
You’ll need to make sure funds are available at payment time.
How long do I have to use the classes?
You have 5 weeks to use your classes. That’s your 4-week period, plus an extra roll-over week in case you need to catch up.
You can use them at ANY time during this period.
How many classes a week should I be doing?
There are a couple of considerations! Your goals and your current schedule.
Once a week – Great for mobility, and that feel good factor. If you are after a stress release and anxiety reducing movement, one class a week is going to be great for your mental health and wellbeing. If you are also using it alongside other forms of exercise, it’s a great method to extend your resistance training exercise.
On a Bronze Membership, you get 4 classes every 4 weeks. So basically like a once a week plan. You can buy extra classes at your membership rate as you need though. So this can be a good plan to help you flexibility commit to 4 classes, but do more as you can.
Twice a week – We recommend 2 classes a week to help you progress! You’ll build up muscle memory, learn the exercises, develop your form with repetition, and experience your muscles adapting. So 2x a week is a great place to start to see results like increasing strength, reduced aches and pains, improved sleep and mental health, and more energy.
On a Silver membership you get 8 classes every 4 weeks, so it’s perfect for a 2x a week practice. But of course you can use them at any time – so if you miss a class one week, you can always do 3 classes the next week, which is great for helping you reach your goals and not miss a chance to practise.
3-4 times a week – Your body adapts, so adding an extra class is the best way to continue to progress and increase strength, flexibility, and muscle tone. Upping your volume should be done progressively…so work towards this goal! Our memberships allow you to buy extra classes at your membership rate. So you can add classes as you are able, before moving to the next membership level, when you know it’s the right time!
If you would like to chat through your needs and align the right membership with them, we would love to help you. Send us an email to reception@onformphysio.co.nz with your number and the best time to call and we’ll get in touch with you.
How does Advance unpaid booking work?
Members are entitled to book as far as 90 days in advance as they choose, to reserve their desired sessions, unpaid.
These advance bookings are unpaid, but when your pass renews, these unpaid classes will be reconciled to your new pass. We encourage members to keep track of their class bookings against their entitlement each period.
You can see when your pass started in our app. Just go to Profile / Wallet / Scroll down to purchase history and check the date your passes started.
What happens when I go on a waitlist?
Once a class is full, you’ll need to waitlist if you want to get a spot in that specific session.
We allow up to 4 clients to waitlist for any one class, you’ll take a place on that list.
When a spot comes up/someone cancels, you’ll receive an email notification that you’ve automatically been placed in the class.
If your plans have changed and you don’t intend on taking a Reformer, you need to cancel your waitlisted spot asap so that you don’t lose a session.
Because the space on the waitlist is limited – please keep our community in mind – and if you don’t intend on coming anymore – leave the waitlist so the next person in line can join. Imagine if it was you, and you really wanted to come!
NB: You are only charged once you move into the class. The system does not require a pass, but if you make it into class you’ll be charged for the session.
HOT TIP! The waitlist locks 2 hours prior to class. This means it stops automatically transferring. So if someone cancels, the space will show in the app as available and anyone can book it and come. So if you really want a spot – keep check right up until 10 minutes before class (as long as you have time to get to class in time!)
Can I move up or down Membership levels?
Yes! Sometimes seasons in life and circumstances change.
If you find yourself in a season where you can do more classes – you can move up to the next level of membership. And yes – your intro offer discount access applies.
The same reasoning applies to moving down. If you are in a season where you need to cut back, you can shift down the membership levels. Some Pilates is better than no Pilates at all – and it’s more important to keep moving that quit altogether.
All you need to do is get in touch and we can help you make a plan.
How do I put my membership on hold?
On a Flexi membership you have unlimited holds. This means there is no limit to the number of times or the length.
The minimum amount of time for a hold is 7 days. And to stop a payment, we do need 7 day’s notice to get everything actioned in time.
If you forgot – no problem! We might not be able to stop the payment, but we can still apply the hold, which will extend your pass expiry and push out your next payment.
On a Fixed membership you have 2 weeks of hold in a 6-month period. If you don’t use this – we are happy to extend this into the next 6-month period, giving you 4 weeks total in a year.
If you need more time than this, we can’t offer more hold time, but we can extend the expiry of your passes (within a 3-month time limit) so that you don’t lose them, and you can fit in an extra class or two over once you are back in the studio.
We want you to be as regular and consistent as possible, so you get all the benefits!
Please note: you can’t book or attend classes on hold.
How do I cancel my membership?
If you would like to cancel your auto pay contract, please give us 4 weeks’ notice in writing.
Flexi memberships have no minimum term.
Fixed memberships have a 6-month minimum term. You can cancel after 6-months with 4 weeks’ notice. Cancelling inside your 6-month term incurs an early cancellation fee of $199, or a medical certification from your Docter, if there is a medical reason you cannot continue.
Help! I'm injured or sick...what now?
The great thing about ONFORM is that moving through all the highs and lows of life with the power of Pilates is what we are about. It helps us keep going, heal and restore, and stregnthen us back up again.
If you are injured or sick, you can put your membership on hold. (On a Fixed membership a special hold requires a medical certificate from a Physio or Doctor).
Your injury will really benefit from a Physio appointment with our team, so that you can get expert, 1:1 help with customised modifications and advice around your loading choices and range of motion. This is a great way of being able to make mindful choices in your exercise while you heal.
Rehab with us can look like a series of 1:1 Physio Pilates appointments, before getting back into classes. Or it can look like 1 or 2, and then communication back to our amazing Pilates instructor team or how they can assist you in class with management.
And YES we are registered for ACC, and if you injury is from an accident, you can come straight to us, no GP referral needed. For a physio appointment you can book online, or email reception@onformphysio.co.nz for appointment options and advice.
I can see Pilates can help me...what classes are best for me?
If you are just starting your Pilates journey, our Foundation class is a great entry level class.
There are a lot of exercises to learn, and when your technique and set up are right, you will be able to feel a challenge.
If you don’t feel the right challenge – chat to your instructor and make sure you they know that you aren’t finding the ‘work’. It might be that your form needs some tweaking, or you could slow down and find the ‘hold’ for a little longer, or you may need your springs adjusted.
Or maybe you are ready to move to the next level ofclass challenge! Your instructor will be able to give you that advice.
If you are injury free, and moving confidently, you are welcome to join us in a Reformer 1. This is an open level class that layers the exercise with progressive options for you to cater the workout to suit your body. Regressions also offered so you know how to take the challenge down a notch if you need. Where appropriate we’ll give you both Level 1 and Level 2 options to give you a choice, and education on how and why these choices make the move more challenging.
How do I cancel a class i have booked? And do I get it back?
Cancellations happen all the time, for lots of reasons!
We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. That means if you early cancel outside of 12 hours, you get your session back.
If you late cancel, inside of 12 hours, you forfeit a session. We hate to do it…but unfortunately as a small business with small classes we must do it. We do have compassion though – so please reach out if you have suffered a hardship, so we can help you.
It’s important to cancel, and not do a no show. Your instructor has prepped and planned for you, and is looking forward to seeing you. Plus, there maybe someone on the waitlist who would love to come to class. Please show us and our community courtesy by cancelling. Thank you!
